Acknowledgements:
Our training method focuses on the optimal function of the body. We fully acknowledge that part of your experience may be one of pathology, or trauma. If you have questions or need support during the training we hope you will seek the support of a qualified counsellor/psychologist or physical therapist. As there are as many experiences of the body as there are people in the room, we endeavor to stay clearly with embodiment and knowledge of optimal imagery around the structure of the anatomical body.
This Level 2 program is an exhilarating journey into the body’s intricate muscle and fascial systems, designed to supercharge your movement efficiency and body awareness. Each module is drawn up to offer practical knowledge and hands-on experience, empowering you to move and teach with ease and confidence.
Module 1: Embodying the Core
The initial focus of this program is mastering dynamic muscle imagery techniques to unlock your full potential. We plunge into the anatomy of the pelvic fascial layers, including the levator ani, anococcygeal ligament, and tendinous arch. You’ll also learn a range of invigorating ball exercises in both supine and sitting positions to activate and tone your pelvic floor. You will also learn how to harness the power of balls and resistance bands in your teaching for exploring the dance between muscles and fascia.
Module 2: Evolution and Function
In this module, we dive into the powerhouse erector spinae muscle group, unraveling its pivotal role in maintaining posture and powering spinal extension. We’ll unlock the mysteries of the suboccipital muscles, understanding their finesse in head movement and proprioception. You will also come to understand the dynamic contributions of the hamstrings and deep external rotators in knee flexion, hip extension, and stabilization.
Module 3: Pelvic Dynamics
In this third module, we’ll take a deep dive into the driving forces behind pelvic movements, with a spotlight on the mighty iliopsoas. We will also examine the significance of fascial networks, including the intriguing connection between the jaw and pelvis. You will then learn a range of targeted ball exercises to awaken the adductor muscles, enhancing flexibility and strength. You will also learn how to teach a revitalizing fascia warm-up to prepare the connective tissues for action.
Module 4: Foot Fundamentals
We kick off this module by exploring the remarkable adaptations that empower bipedal locomotion in the evolution of the foot. You’ll gain profound insights into the plantar fascia’s role in arch support and shock absorption. We’ll also review the bone rhythms as we look at the synchronized choreography of foot bones. You will also deepen your understanding of the calf muscles and Achilles tendon through detailed anatomical analysis and dynamic exercises.
Module 5: Core and Thoracic Integration
Our fifth module explores the pivotal role of the thoracolumbar fascia in spinal stability. We will look at the rectus abdominis and its essential function in posture. You will also learn about the vital contributions of the ribcage and scalenes to respiration. We’ll explore the diaphragm’s central role in breathing and core stability, and discover the dynamic roles of the obliques and transversus abdominis in trunk movement and stability.
Module 6: Upper Body Mechanics
In our final module, we’ll look at the vital roles of the trapezius and serratus muscles in posture and scapular movement. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the supraspinatus and infraspinatus within the rotator cuff ensemble, and we’ll also explore the influential role of the sternocleidomastoid in head movement and respiration. You’ll also gain deep insight into arm mechanics, including the key contributions of the pectoral and deltoid muscles to arm movements, and the significance of the latissimus dorsi in pulling and lifting actions.
Each training session for modules 1-6 is 3pm – 5:45pm (Zurich). Module 7 is 3pm-9pm for each session.

Mentoring
One of the most valuable and nourishing aspects of the course is our mentoring program. Every student is paired with a member of the Franklin Method® faculty at the beginning of the course. This faculty teacher will act as your mentor throughout the program – meeting with you in small groups once a month, offering answers to your questions, providing feedback on homework, and accompanying you on this wonderful journey.
You will ideally be connected to a mentor with a similar professional background. This mentorship will help you integrate your Franklin Method® learning into your specific teaching discipline – whether it’s dance, Pilates, yoga or something entirely different. Your time zone will also be taken into account to ensure the mentor meetings take place at a comfortable time for you. You will also have the opportunity to change mentors before the course begins if the mentor group we select isn’t quite right for your needs.
