Acknowledgements:
Our training method focuses on the optimal function of the body. We fully acknowledge that part of your experience may be one of pathology, or trauma. If you have questions or need support during the training we hope you will seek the support of a qualified counsellor/psychologist or physical therapist. As there are as many experiences of the body as there are people in the room, we endeavor to stay clearly with embodiment and knowledge of optimal imagery around the structure of the anatomical body.

The “Meet your Mentor” Introductory Event takes place on September 10, 2024.
The Virtual Graduation event is earmarked to be held on April 30, 2025.

Mentoring

One of the most valuable and nourishing aspects of the course is our mentoring program. Every student is paired with a member of the Franklin Method faculty at the beginning of the course. This faculty teacher will act as your mentor throughout the program – meeting with you in small groups once a month, offering answers to your questions, providing feedback on homework, and accompanying you on this wonderful journey.

You will ideally be connected to a mentor with a similar professional background. This mentorship will help you integrate your Franklin Method learning into your specific teaching discipline – whether it’s dance, Pilates, yoga or something entirely different. Your time zone will also be taken into account to ensure the mentor meetings take place at a comfortable time for you. You will also have the opportunity to change mentors before the course begins if the mentor group we select isn’t quite right for your needs.

Dynamic Neurocognitive Imagery (DNI)™ forms the backbone of the Franklin Method – this is the use of dynamic mental imagery to support the development of healthy physical function, strength, mobility and coordination.

  • The Franklin Method has had a profound influence on my personal and professional life. Eric Franklin’s evolution of imagery and its application contain the knowledge and power to create a quantum leap in our understanding of human movement and our own potential.

JAN DUNN M.S. BOARDS OF DIRECTORS, INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF DANCE MEDICINE

  • “In this Training program you are literally handed the keys to unlock every problem related to the use of the human body.”

    Jocelyn H Saiki Pilates Instructor

  • “The Franklin method will do more to improve your teaching of any kind of movement than any other system or program I have studied. If you want to become the best teacher you can be, take this program.”

    Nora St. John Balanced Body

  • “The Franklin Training is the most intelligent approach to learning about the workings of the body I have ever attended. It is not just information, it is the experience of our design as we learn, that is transforming”.

Tom McCook Fitness Instructor, Director Center of Balance

  • “I initially did it because I wanted to teach classical ballet in a better, more productive way, and on the journey I actually fixed all my own injuries.

I had knee pain, hip pain, back pain, foot pain, and I don’t have any of that any more. And another added bonus of that has been that I suddenly became awfully creative.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I learn the Franklin Method?

Becoming a Franklin Method Educator gives you access to a broad base of knowledge as well as numerous game-changing techniques. The course will help you design training based on the scientific findings of Dynamic Neuro-Cognitive Imagery (DNI ™). The course will also noticeably improve your own well-being as well as that of your pupils and patients, while boosting their fitness and anatomical knowledge in the process.

Last but not least, this course will help you add variety to your teaching to spice up your courses and inspire your students. Knowing how to address common physical problems is a vital asset every teacher should have in their repertoire.

How can I use this course to support my career?

First and foremost, after completing this course you are entitled to practice as a Franklin Method Educator. In addition, this course is particularly popular with already qualified therapists, exercise educators and yoga, Pilates, sports and dance teachers. Why? Because it equips you with all the tools you need to help your students or patients gain a healthier body and release troublesome tension. This unlocks potential, maximizes performance and adds vital variety to your teaching toolbox. You can read detailed information on our licensing model for trainers here.

Is it possible to attend the course by replay if I live in a completely different time zone?

Yes! Although we have arranged the sessions to be accessible to as much of the globe as possible, we appreciate that the timing is difficult for students in East Asia, Australia/NZ and the Pacific region in particular. Many students in this part of the world have graduated successfully with us in the past and we are happy to allow you to attend the course through replays. In this case, we would place you in a mentor group that is suitable for your time zone – and attending this group live would be a requirement for taking part in the course.

What do I need to take part in the online course?

To ensure you can enjoy this course to the fullest, you should have an Internet connection which is fast enough to support smooth video streaming on Zoom. You will also need a computer, tablet or smartphone (iOS or android) on which to stream the event and join on video. You will also need to be able to record and upload videos for practice teaching homework sessions. No prior knowledge of anatomy or the Franklin Method is required. In fact, this course is an excellent introduction to what our approach is all about. Participants will be provided with some online course material and an interactive quiz ahead of the event to ensure everyone has the same starting point.

Participants are also required to purchase a Franklin Method Band and Ball Set before the event, as these are useful aids in some of the exercises outlined in the course. To get yours, please visit our product page. If there is no distributor in your area, please contact support@franklinmethod.com for alternative solutions.

Participants are also required to obtain the required reading of Eric Franklin’s book “Dynamic Alignment”. To get yours, please visit our book page. There are both printed & Kindle versions available.

How long can I access the video material?

The recordings of the included online video courses and webinar will be accessible to you indefinitely for as long as you are licensed with us. This gives you the chance to refresh your knowledge as and when you need it. Replays of the official training sessions will be available for you to stream for 21 days after each weekend module so you can prepare for your teach-back sessions.

Are already licensed Franklin Method® educators able to participate?

Yes, and if you have graduated level 1 or above prior to this course, you can repeat the level 1 training with a 50% discount on the online training price. * Unfortunately, because of technical reasons we can only offer a few discounted spots for certified FM educators. Please get in touch with us before you register, as we are unable to refund overpaid fees.
