How to Slouch Proof your Body

Welcome to a the 4th video in new series of video lessons that we will be publishing at least once a month for you. This video is about how to slouch proof your body. Why do you not want to slouch? Your over stretching your lower back, middle back and compressing  your heart and your lungs. Your heart is not happy and it put’s you in a bad mood.

We get better at what we practice, and if we slouch every day we get very good at slouching and it becomes a habit, making slouching more comfortable that sitting ups straight. However, this video will help you by giving your body a new experience that will help you feels good when you sit with good posture.

Watch below, and as always I would love to hear your feedback in the comments!

I really like and enjoy your subtle thoughtful exercises. We practice Tai chi and Alexander Techniques as taught through Sally Swift’s Centered Riding. Basically coming from Mabel Todd’s teachings. I pass your ideas on to my riding students. Thank you for these short glimpses with fresh images. Very helpful

Very good. Simple and effective. I understood the effect of the sternum on body posture from my mindful connectivity work, and think that the clavicle massage is a wonderful addition.

  • Stepan Haskovec

Hello, just a little critical view upon clavicule work, as it is performed on the video it tends to be more whole upper limb work than clavicule movement so I would suggest more precise navigation there ( one idea being opening and shutting a small book between the shoulder and the clavicule) and what I also find useful is a manual stretch of m subclavius from inner to outer part of it during the movement, all the best Stepan

Love the effective simplicity of your teachings, Ive just recently had a car accident so any techniques for whiplash would be greatfully appreciated!

It is amazing how well this works. Just a very simple method to get immediate results. I immediately felt my sternum life.

I have enjoyed your lessons (when I take time to pay attention) for a couple of years. I stumbled upon your videos when looking for tension relief. I’m not a slim dancer, but out of shape retired auto worker. I benefited greatly from the video on slouching. Who knew?! Thank for sharing you expertise with the world. I appreciate what you do.
