Studying initially neuroscience and subsequently creative practice with focus on dance I was able to understand that the brain cannot function without the body and vice versa. Therefore, as human being we exist as a brain-body system with cognitive and other abilities. The Franklin method not only can act therapeutically but has the ability to bring us closer to our selves, therefore, enhancing a dancer’s artistry. I work with clients post-recovery from knee surgeries and chronic back pain as well as professional dancers to help them find freedom in their movement.

I discovered Pilates in 1995 while doing my undergraduate studies in the United States. Although I had trained rigorously for years, within a short time of beginning Pilates work I noticed dramatic toning results; so much so that I decided to enroll in the Physicalmind Institute Instructors Training Program.
After completing the entire certification program in the U.S., I moved to London and worked as an apprentice for one year at a Pilates studio run by Lee Saxby. In 2000, I returned to my native country, Greece, where I opened the Mind and Body Pilates Studio. In 2002 I became certified instructor trainer representing Physicalmind Institute in Greece and in 2007 I became certified instructor trainer representing Balanced Body University in Greece.
I have trained in working with clients with Osteoporosis by completing a Physicalmind Workshop, I use gait and postural analyses to determine their muscular imbalances and design unique and targeted programs that address their individual needs. Using my studies of Rehabilitation techniques, studied at a seminar in New York, I have had excellent results applying Pilates exercises in work with injured clients. I also teach Standing Pilates, a series of exercises created by Physicalmind Institute for toning muscles weakened by sedentary life habits. My passion for tennis has led me to design a special Pilates Program for Tennis. This program strengthens and stretches all the muscles involved in playing tennis and corrects the muscular imbalances that are caused by this one-sided sport. Last but not least, I created Designing Effective Pilates Programs course and manual. The course aims to help Pilates teachers to design effective programs for their clients. It provides a framework consisting of process and tools that organizes and assists the program design work and ensures that its outcome has consistent level of quality.
In addition to Pilates, I have been certified in the Gyrotonic method, a pioneering discipline that works the spine in circular motions and also tones the joints. It is performed on a piece of equipment called the Pulley Tower. The Gyrotonic and Pilates methods are highly compatible and combining them results in a thoroughly trained body free from injuries. In 2006 I have successfully completed the certification requirements for the Gyrotonic Expansion System (Gyrotonic level 1). Moreover in 2015 I have been specialized in Gyrotonic Jumping Stretching Board in equipment training of Gyrotonic and in 2017 I completed the continuing education requirements (Gyrotonic level 2)
for the Gyrotonic & Gyrokinesis methods. In 2018 I certified in the Leg Extension, a fantastic equipment; for lengthening and sculpting all major leg muscles, while toning the abdominals and strengthening the spine and shoulders.
As of September 2022, I am following Eric Franklin Certification courses and inspired by his work I am teaching Anatomy through Movement and use imagery in my teaching for effective queuing.
And now my passion is Golf as Arnold Palmer has said “deceptively simple game but very complex”. Golf is harsh on the body it requires many spiraling movements for the spine, intense hip mobility and rotation. Using my knowledge from Pilates and Gyrotonic® I have developed programs for effective playing with ease and kindness to the body.
I enjoy my work and stay informed on advancements in the Pilates method by participating in seminars organized every year by Physicalmind Institute and Balanced Body University.

Lora has been dancing with happy abandon since she was three years old. When she became a professional dancer, she practiced Pilates to strengthen herself during rehearsals and performance schedules. She went on to dance as a Radio City Rockette in NYC for 9 years and appeared in numerous musicals around the world. During her very active entertainment career she never missed a show and remained injury free. She credits this to the attention she paid to posture and alignment.
While still performing she began her studies that would lead her to become a master teacher in the Pilates method through Pilates Sports Center as well as certified in GYROTONIC®, GYROKINESIS®, the Franklin Method, DaVinci BodyBoard and other body balancing disciplines. Since 2004 she has helped thousands of individuals improve their posture, strength and balance through movement studios. In 2004, Lora opened the doors to Pilates Studio City and now co-owns the studio in Los Angeles with Nikki Alstedter. Nikki & Lora also owned 3 other successful movement studios including Pilates South Austin in Austin, TX. Her commitment to “core principles” continue to serve her well in other areas of her life – they make her a better surfer, hiker, skier, partner and mother.
Lora’s mission is to help others enhance their well being and vitality so they can stand tall and enjoy life to the fullest.

My life has always revolved around people. No matter what industry, it was not the product that inspired me but the people I came into contact with. Recently, I found myself in a unique situation where I could fill my days with whatever passion I chose and I gravitated toward health and fitness. It was a life changing and wondrous adventure. I hope to share this journey with those that I come into contact and aspire to make a difference to their present and future living.
I have been working in the health and fitness industry since 1997. Yet, I have been involved in sport and fitness since the age of 7. I have found my strengths lie in water and land group fitness teaching but could not ignore the calling to become a personal trainer. I strive to continue learning, developing and growing in all areas of mind, body and spirit. I began Pilates Mat seven years ago have loved what it has done for my health and wellbeing. Now I am teaching Pilates equipment and love to share the joy this work brings.
I find myself loving every type of group fitness class imaginable also swimming, boogie boarding, golf and tennis. I love anything Italian, travelling, folk art painting, cooking, family and friends. But, my true joy in life is to search out and find anyone willing to have a chat.

When Rachel first discovered Pilates, she was a software engineer struggling with a serious repetitive stress injury. She quickly found that Pilates was extremely helpful in her recovery. When her husband’s job took their family to Australia for a few years, she took advantage of the high quality training programs in Melbourne to switch careers and certify as a Pilates instructor. Always interested in deepening her skill set to better serve her clients, Rachel completed additional certifications in the Alexander Technique and Franklin Method.
Rachel teaches the Alexander Technique, Franklin Method, and Pilates at her metro Boston studio and online, always with a focus in finding joy in movement. Her clients range from athletes and dancers, to people managing medical conditions, to people focusing on healthy aging. She finds it continually inspiring to see her clients improving their strength, balance, flexibility, coordination, and proprioception. But the biggest, deepest transformations often occur as people develop a better understanding of our human design and function, as they learn to embody their knowledge, and as they become more deeply and fully present for themselves and the people in their lives.

Sarah is a specialist mind body movement educator, and creator of her Pilates Mind Body Studio and Virtual Studio: a dedicated Franklin Method®, Pilates and Movement space: where Franklin Method® is both integral to everything that is taught, as well as being taught in its own right. All the different elements of Franklin Method® are taught there, as well as dancer specific programmes, classes and workshops. Based in Birmingham and Shropshire in the United Kingdom, you will also find her travelling across the country to work with her dancers mainly in London and Birmingham, as well as now working internationally in her Virtual Studio.
Sarah’s other main taught modality is Pilates. She followed the traditional training route, working as an apprentice with Alan Herdman at his London studio; qualifying with him as a Comprehensive Pilates Teacher, with a specialism in remedial exercise. Qualified to teach all levels of Pilates Mat and Studio work, Sarah has a special focus and rich experience of fine tuning movement and helping people pre and post surgery, or working with long term chronic conditions or injuries. Since qualifying she has worked at top rehabilitation studios in Hertfordshire and Pilates studios in Central London that use the Alan Herdman technique, working with every age and ability. Sarah moved her work into her own studio to focus on fully realising the potential of combining Franklin Method® with Pilates to get optimal results for those who work with her and to help a wider audience that link into the Virtual Studio from across the world.
Her specialist focus within the Pilates environment is that of using all of the tools of the Franklin Method® to optimise movement but especially in remedial work where sensation is often lost and the positive use of mind body connection is so critical. Her advanced Pilates qualifications cover areas of women’s health and dancer specific issues in particular. She is a Pre / Post Natal Pilates and Diastasis Recti Recovery Specialist (under Carolyn Anthony), Foot Health and Exercise Specialist including focus on hypermobility, scoliosis and asymmetry (Under Dr. Suzanne Martin). Sarah has advanced qualifications in Bone and Joint Health and qualified as a Buff Bones® Instructor under Rebekah Rotstein. She is Rebekah’s teaching assistant within the UK trainings of the Buff Bones® instructors and online.
From her previous vocational training as a dancer and Classical Ballet teacher, Sarah combines this past life with all of her current skills to work with dancers, teaching Franklin Method® to dancers of every age and ability in person and online. Her key focus is to improve dancer health and wellbeing, as well as optimise their technique and performance skills using the Franklin Method®. She is a member of Dance UK and IADMS (International Association of Dance Medicine and Science) as a Dancer Health and Wellbeing Practitioner.
Sarah’s passion is to help you get moving better, feeling better in body and in mind and to really fall in love with movement. She works with people who are focused and committed to improving their movement skills, be they people looking for a greater sense of calm and wellbeing in mind and body, or dancers and equestrians looking to fine tune their movement using the power of the mind. She has been on a journey herself, from a high performing manager, and a classical dancer and ballet teacher, back to learning everything from the beginning as a result of complex reconstructive surgeries and rehabilitation. As she has been there herself along every part of a movement journey she has a great understanding personally of what it feels like to perform at your best as well as the frustrations that any setback can have on how you feel. She also knows first hand of the incredible power of the Franklin Method® for movement at any level and life as a whole! Her approach is gentle and calm, always with kindness, patience for you and your body – even on days when you may not be feeling so kind to yourself! She encourages you to really learn the skill of listening to your own body and encourages you to develop your own autonomy as you too learn how to feel and sense your body in movement.
When she is not teaching, she’s busy dancing, practising Pilates and exploring movement with her own teachers and mentors from across the world, or in her own Franklin Method® practice. You’ll find lots of her mind body thinking over on her Insta – partly journalling and partly as an inspiration to others that pass by!

I’m a great advocate of making movement and exercise an enjoyable and integral part of your life.
I have always loved movement, and growing up I did a lot of it, from haring around on my bicycle to swimming and ballet. That love of movement has stayed with me long into adulthood as I am a keen walker, hiker and cyclist. I started practicing Pilates 20 years ago to aid recovery after a minor back injury, which in turn led me to become a Pilates teacher.
I enjoy teaching the ‘why’ and the ‘how’ behind movement, using a holistic approach drawn from different modalities, such as Pilates and my now on-going Franklin Method training. From April 2020, I’m undertaking my Level 1 Franklin Method training after becoming a Fascia Trainer for the Pelvic Floor.
After originally training in matwork Pilates with Body Control Pilates, I now have 14 years experience of educating people on movement and whole body health. In March 2015, I gained my studio qualification from Polestar Pilates and in 2018, I was invited to join the Polestar Pilates Education Team as a Graduate Assistant, where I assist on their teacher training courses.
I have taught ante & post natal Pilates for over a decade, and as well as running my own Pilates classes, I’ve taught group matwork and Reformer classes at various studios in London.
In 2020, I founded and created Movement Meditation. These are online, monthly sessions, designed to give you a meditative experience through movement, breath and visual imagery, to reduce physical and mental tension.
