Maya Aubrey began teaching Pilates in Santa Fe, NM working for Michele Larsson at the Institute for the Pilates Method in 1991 before opening her own studio, PilateZone, in 1993, where she offers teacher training and continuing education. She brings to her Pilates training a background of 20 years as a professional dancer and choreographer. Maya has taught for Pilates on Tour as well as for the Australian Pilates Method Alliance, holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Utah and is PMA certified.

Renay Aumiller is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Elon University and a Franklin Method Educator. She is an artist and scholar specializing in contemporary modern dance technique and the creative process. Her research interests explore the intersection of technical vocabularies, performance, and movement invention with The Franklin Method movement education. She crafts her choreography to research the human experience, specifically learned human behavior and its effects on locality, collaboration and association. She recently presented her choreography in various festivals including the Atlanta Dance Collective, Austin Dance Festival, Sans Limites Dance Festival, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, American Dance Festival, and the North Carolina Dance Festival. This past year, she has enjoyed guest teaching/residencies/presentations at Salem College, the Atlanta Dance Collective, National Dance Educators Organization in San Antonio, TX, the NC Dance Educators Organization in Charlotte, NC, Arts Together, Northeast American College Dance Association Conference at Montclair University, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Northeast Normal University in Changchun, China.

Lan Vy Avent is the owner and instructor of Obelisk Pilates- Yoga Studio on Lake Travis in Austin Texas. She has a passion for teaching others to achieve their maximum potential in mind – body- soul development.
She develops custom Pilates and Yoga program for each client, drawing from several disciplines in order to increase flexibility, improve posture, and protect the skeletal system by developing core strength and exercising the muscles and joints and teaching how to use one’s brain to improve body function. Amy loves Pilates and the many benefits it has to offer. After discovering Pilates in 2002 and having experienced the benefits within her own body, Amy completed her Full Pilates Mat and Studio Certification through the internationally recognised training organisation Pilates International Training Centre (PITC) in 2004. She then went on to complete the Certificate IV in Pilates Instruction in 2005 with PITC and her Cert IV in Massage in 2006.
Amy has had the opportunity to work alongside Pilates Instructors and Physiotherapists from a variety of teaching backgrounds and is thankful for the invaluable knowledge and experience they have provided her with. Yoga and Franklin Method educator Monique Beaumont has been involved in various movement disciplines since the age of four. In her early years she trained in Ballet, Tap and Jazz dance. She went on to complete a diploma in performing arts, during which she studied contemporary and cultural dance with Whitireia performing arts in New Zealand. She went on to explore Argentine Tango and after succumbing to the addiction of social Tango she began teaching. She has trained as a yoga teacher and a Franklin Method educator.
As she continues to explore her own movement practice in yoga and dance, she is becoming more and more influenced by Scaravelli-inspired yoga and the Franklin method.
Monique is a keen researcher of ‘bodymind’ and she believes that a deeper functional and anatomical understanding of the body enables us to work intelligently and safely.
As a teacher, her aim is to provide a safe environment, within a group setting or in private sessions, where you are able to benefit from guided self-exploration and discovery. Tracy Belcher is an insured and certified Pilates and Franklin Method teacher based in Miami, FL. She is certified by Real Pilates (by Alycea Ungaro), Polestar Pilates, Pilates Method Alliance®, and Franklin Method®. She teaches private lessons on all Pilates apparatuses, group reformer classes and group mat classes with props. She also teaches Franklin Method workshops, a system that uses anatomical embodiment and Dynamic Neurocognitive Imagery (DNI) TM to create lasting change in body and mind.
Tracy first found Pilates while working as a busy marketing and communications professional. She held corporate positions for more than 12 years, first designing and implementing strategic communications plans for business to business, consumer and nonprofit clients at a leading PR agency, and then leading all marketing and communications activities for the expansion and relocation of Miami’s flagship art museum to a new world-class facility on Biscayne Bay. During this time, she maintained a healthy body and sound mind through her dedicated Pilates practice, and began training to become a Pilates teacher in 2012. She fell in love with teaching and sharing the benefits of the practice, and began working part-time as a teacher. One certification led to another, one workshop to another, and it wasn’t long before her passion for Pilates became her primary focus and commitment. She now works full-time as a Pilates professional, but utilizes her communications experience as a consultant to studios and clients in the moment field, assisting with branding, writing, and strategic communications plans and activities.
Tracy’s teaching style is based on Joseph Pilates’ original principles and “Whole Body Health” philosophy, but combined with today’s scientific understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics and motor control, and scientific research findings in the areas of orthopedics, sports medicine and movement science. Carolyn began studying Pilates passionately in 2002, being referred after a yoga injury. She attained the Apprentice Teacher Certificate with the prestigious Fletcher Pilates and completed her comprehensive teacher program at the Pilates Conservatory with Master Teacher, Pat Guyton. After seeing the effect the Franklin Method had on the work of Guyton, Carolyn enrolled in the Franklin Method course of study. In September 2012, Carolyn was awarded certification as a Franklin Method Educator and began the FM Level 2 training.
Carolyn seeks to assist others in improving their body’s function in sports, fitness and life pursuits. The Franklin Method’s movement imagery, experiential anatomy and tension relief products and exercises enable Carolyn to customize her client sessions, group classes and workshops. The aim is for participants to achieve lasting results from their investment of time and funds for moving more efficiently and pain free.

Renée has 25 years of experience teaching in the health and fitness industry and has worked with a variety of clients ranging from the elite athlete to those with both acute and chronic injuries. Renée infuses each lesson with specific, detailed alignment, attention on the breath, and imagery. She believes that the combination of these elements facilitates an awakening that leads to a deeper understanding of oneself and to the world around them. Renée is a graduate of the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, The Pilates Center Teacher Training Program, Richard Freeman’s Yoga Teacher Training Program and is currently enrolled in Eric Franklin’s Teaching Training Program. Karen Betten is the founder and owner of Limitless Livingwhich provides private and group sessions and workshops to connect each and every person to their infinite potential to live limitless, joyful, authentic, unique and abundant lives.
Karen has 23 years experience in the health and wellness field. Her career began as a Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit staff nurse, continued with her post graduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and then as a Surgical Nurse Practitioner for a Colon and Rectal Surgeon in New York.
She expanded her career even further as delving into energy medicine to become a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner and Yuen Method Master. She has now found the Franklin Method to be a powerful change agent whether clients are recovering from surgery, desiring to enhance their athletic performance or overcoming physical pain/challenges. She has found the Franklin Method to be extraordinarily powerful in bringing ease and longevity to her client’s exercise and movement endeavors. Merilee Blaisdell is a level III Franklin Method Educator, a Yamuna Body Rolling Practitioner, and a Pilates, dance and fitness instructor. She holds a BA in dance from St. Mary’s College of California.
Merilee has been teaching dance, all types of movement, and fitness, for over 30 years, at studios, in schools, and universities from New York to LA. She was a professional dancer, actress and singer for many years on Broadway, television, and film. Currently she is a teaching Franklin Method classes to Drama Academy students at CHAMPS Charter High School of the Arts, in Van Nuys, CA. She also teaches private and group Franlin Method classes and workshops. She is a member of the faculty at the Anna Cheselka Dance Center in Studio City, and the Colburn School in Los Angeles. Shawn received her MFA in Dance from The Ohio State University and has been on the dance faculty at Salem College in the Department of Dance Studies for 11 years. She has been a guest artist and on the dance faculties at several schools including The Ohio State University, Towson State, Goucher College, Wake Forest University, The University of North Carolina Greensboro, The North Carolina Governor’s School, and Guangxi Arts College in P.R. of China. She performs regionally and most recently has been involved with an intergenerational dance group (ages 5-90), performing in The Goldberg Project and The Patsy Project, as well as her own work including Forsaking Her for the Ruby Slipper’s Fringe Festival. Sarah Breedlove has been interested in human anatomy and body awareness since the age of 8. What began as a request by many a coach to be “relaxed” while in action, – later became her personal obsession and then professional career. While in college studying dance and kinesiology, Sarah deepened her knowledge of anatomy and body mechanics and later became a certified personal trainer in the Pilates Method of conditioning. After more than 1000 hours of education and 8 years of teaching Pilates, Sarah was still struggling to find ease in all movement for herself and her clients. On Thanksgiving Day weekend in 2008, Sarah attended her first Franklin Method® Workshop. Instantly every-day movements and every Pilates exercises began to get easier and more integrated. Franklin Method® enhanced both personal health and professional Pilates/movement coaching! She inspires her clients to become curious about their bodies and to discover their own choices for support that come from within.
Her fascination with movement began in childhood through dance and performance. Drawn to the beauty and intensity of classical technique, she trained as a professional ballet dancer in NYC at the School of American Ballet. Dance was her introduction and inspiration for the subsequent intensive studies in Pilates, Aston-Patterning, Franklin Method, Anthropology, Massage and BodyTalk.
She is a co-author with Judith Aston and Kimberly Ross in their first of a series of Aston-Patterning books, Moving Beyond Posture.
