Lift your body, lift your pelvis

Welcome to a the 6th video in new series of video lessons. In this video I show you two dynamic exercises for your pelvic floor to help you train your pelvic floor muscles and release tension from that area.  A lot of people have issues with their pelvic floor with incontinence or tension. If you have tight pelvic floor this can give you tight hip joints and a tight lower back.

For many people the only exercise they have learned for their pelvic floor is to contract the muscle. However, if you were to go to a gym and a trainer told you to work out your bicep by just contracting the muscle you would probably be disappointed. Yes, it may do something but you can do this more dynamically by lengthening and shortening your pelvic floor muscles.

Watch below, and as always I would love to hear your feedback in the comments!

Thank you Eric Franklin, I really appreciate your videos and particularly the pelvic floor one. Always good to get another way of helping clients to work and strengthen.

Thank you for this video! Would it also be appropriate to use it for someone who has a known weak pelvic floor – Not an over-tight pelvic floor? I was thinking yes as it should put them more in touch with it and allow them to learn to contract it better, too – unless you would suggest otherwise?

These exercises are also to help strengthen the pelvic floor.

Thank you for the video. Would doing the cat curl on all fours have the same effect as tilting the pelvis forward and back? Mgt
